After a fabulous evening of wine tasting, we’re looking forward to all that’s still to come! Here are details of two meal evenings coming soon with talks that address some critical questions.

Thursday 18th March

An evening at the Shampan 2 Indian restaurant (Chatterton Road, Bromley)

We have had some great evenings at the Shampan before and it's a good venue for relaxed chatting with friends.

Kevin Newman will begin to address the common objection that Christianity is irrelevant to the question, as he speaks to the question ‘Why does Jesus matter?’

Tickets are £10 (excl.drinks) and can be reserved with Suzi Avery on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and there are limited space. Invitations also available on Sundays.

Friday 19th March

A BIG question over Fish ‘N Chips
A relaxed evening at Church Christ with the opportunity to think through a serious issue.

Paul Clarke is an evangelist based at St Helen's Bishopsgate and has much experience speaking on apologetic issues both to students and at local churches. He will help us with the question ‘Why does God let us suffer?’

The evening will run as follows:

  • 8.00pm - Fish 'n Chips
  • 8.45pm - Talk: Why does God let us suffer?
  • 9.05pm - Coffee & Dessert
  • 9.25pm - Questions
  • 10.00pm - End

Tickets are £7.50 and available from Suzi Avery on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Invitations also available on Sundays.

Please note that although we've had men's and women's evenings like this before, both these events are open to men and women.

As part of our follow up from Christmas, we're starting a new Christianity Explored on Tuesday evenings in January 2010, starting on 12th Jan. We'll be talking about it and strongly recommending it in our Christmas services and then praying that God would bring many spiritually hungry people to discover the Lord Jesus for themselves.

Christianity Explored is proving to be an enormously helpful resource across the world for making Jesus clearly known to people who don't know him. In 2010 there will be new translations in German, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Norwegian, Swedish and French. In the UK it is being used in a growing number of churches, schools and prisons for the good of believers and unbelievers alike and CE conferences in the US see 100's of ministers and church members gather to be trained in using the course with friends. One local minister recently said, 'You can tell people who've done CE. They're the ones with all the right instincts when it comes to reading the Bible.'

So whether we're looking to refresh our understanding of the Lord Jesus or we want to help ourselves read the Bible so we understand it better or whether it's the critical task of helping others discover Jesus for themselves, Christanity Explored is hugely valuable resource. Might it be time for you to do it? Might it be the time to ask someone you know to come along with you?

And with 'A Passion for Life' imminent, what better way to prepare ourselves than by being confrontated again with the provocative, powerful and compassionate Jesus Christ of Mark's gospel.

Starts Tuesday 12th Jan, 7.45pm - how about it?

A Passion for Life is a nationwide event that is drawing together local evangelical churches to plan a fantastic variety of outreach initiatives culminating in Easter 2010. It's about proclaiming Christ's passion for the life of the world.

Here at the Christ Church Bromley and Park Langley congregations, we will be playing our part to reach this corner of the south east of England with the wonderful news of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Well, the rain on Sunday that washed out Christ Church in the valley means that summer is (unfortunately) coming to an end.

It also means that all the Youth and Children's groups are about to start back again for the Autumn term on Sunday 7 September. The Children's groups and Pathfinders will be meeting during the morning gathering, and Spectrum will be meeting at 6pm before the evening gathering.

Plus, the midweek groups will also be starting back. Explorer club on Tuesday 9 September, 6th Form Study on 10 September, and Pathfinders on 11 September. For parents of 14-18s, please note that there is no longer Spectrum on a Friday. Instead, members will be part of small groups that meet throughout the week,

Renewing our vision Print E-mail

We've started a period of 'renewing our vision' as a church in the early weeks of 2008.

“the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily” Acts 19:20

We believe that gospel mission through church planting and training for Bible ministry needs to be the driver as we plan prayerfully the future strategy of Christ Church Bromley. I am sure that the church family wants to see the gospel of Jesus Christ increase and make real inroads in the lives of many in our local area and beyond.
